Our beginnings...
It all started in 1947 when Otho Behr, Jr. made batches of linseed oil wood stains in his family’s garage using a formula developed by his chemist father. Otho used his 1941 Ford woodie wagon to personally deliver products to his Southern California customers.
As a reminder of our humble roots, we proudly display this 1941 woodie wagon at our global headquarters’ lobby in Santa Ana, California. It represents our founder’s core values that we continue to embrace and commit to—a passion for excellence while being resourceful and innovative.
