Department:ProvostDepartment's Website: The successful dean candidate will be expected to provide leadership in all aspects of the college's operation, including: advance the university's commitment to excellence in teaching, both in person and online; support and embrace the university's commitment to diversity; lead initiatives to recruit students as well as increase enrollment and retention; take advantage of the college's location in the capital city; build partnerships with the community; raise the state, regional and national profile of the college and its programs; represent the college before the university community, alumni, and other outside entities; lead major fund-raising efforts, focusing on developing significant sources of private funds to support current and ongoing programs and build existing endowments; develop and promote online programs; value and manage interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary endeavors; and enhance the sense of community among faculty, students, administrators, and staff. The College of Business, Health, and Human Services (https://ualr.edu/cbhhs/) includes the School of Business, the School of Counseling, Human Performance and Rehabilitation, the School of Criminal Justice, the School of Nursing, and the School of Social Work. These five schools offer a variety of degrees at the baccalaureate and masters level as well as the state's only PhD in Criminal Justice. Some of the largest and most successful online programs can also be found in this college. This position is governed by state and federal laws as well as UA System and institution policy. Qualifications: Required Education and/or Experience: Candidates must have a terminal degree from an accredited institution. Proven track record of leading and managing organizational change. At least 5 years of demonstrated administrative experience, including a record of collaborative, visionary leadership at the department level or above. Equivalent leadership experience in a non-academic organization will be considered. Preferred Education and/or Experience: Preferred candidates should have successful fundraising experience; intellectual leadership; and, a record of collaboration in a variety of settings. Candidates should manifest strong and effective communication skills. Preferred candidates will have experience in successfully growing a department, school, college, or organization Preferred candidates should have demonstrated experience with and/or a vision for student recruitment.
