Physician - Breast Surgical Oncologist

• Hospital employed position joining an experienced fellowship trained breast surgeon in a well-established and comprehensive breast-only practice in Norman, OK. With a large service area and established referral patterns, this practice cares for a high volume of breast cancer and high risk patients.

• Our Breast Surgery program includes a high risk clinic staffed by a Nurse Practitioner certified in genetic counseling, Nurse Navigators who skillfully facilitate patient flow, and Reconstructive Surgeons who offer a full range of breast reconstruction options.

• We work closely with our Breast Imaging Center which utilizes leading-edge equipment and techniques.

• Strong collaboration with OU Stephenson Cancer Center, the state's only NCI-designated cancer center, delivering the most advanced cancer care and clinical trials. Newly built center to open Spring 2025.

• Operate in new state-of-the-art OR facilities recently compelted with substantial hospital addition. Clinic is located within walking distance on campus.

Job Summary

* Evaluates patient and obtains pertinent information for the diagnosis and treatment of the medical problem.

* Orders further testing and refers to other medical providers as necessary for the appropriate medical management of the patient.

* Documents appropriately in the EMR and completes all necessary forms and correspondence for proper patient care in a timely manner.

* Fosters the development of staff to fulfill the current and future requirements of individuals and the organization.

* Provides a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

Must have formal NRHS Medical Staff privileges for specialty/area worked; includes age-specific competency

Education

Allopathic (MD) or Osteopathic (DO) Physician; board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine

Experience

Completion of a IM or FM residency program

Licensure/Certification

Current Oklahoma Medical License and DEA/OBNDD; other required licenses/board certifications pertinent to specialty/area worked

Qualifications/Skills:

• BC/BE in General Surgery with fellowship training in Breast Surgery.

• Valid medical license to practice in the state of Oklahoma.

• Strong communication skills.

• Commitment to patient-centered care and ongoing professional development.
