SUMMARY: Support the design and analysis of engineering projects. The Engineering department is in charge of developing
test equipment and technical data to create new capabilities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Create projects for fabrication of test equipment.
* Review engineering specifications, drawings, and engineering artifacts to propose design modification.
* Use background knowledge to research for materials and equipment costs.
* Create technical drawings, assembly drawings, and Bill of materials.
* Comply with ARINC 668.
* Assess and provide technical directions based on findings.
* Provide technical guidance as needed.
* Stay current on product technical and regulatory changes.
* Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's Degree
* 4+ years of relevant/technical work experience OR
* or an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.
* Knowledge in Microsoft Office
* Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules
of composition, and grammar.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
* Master's degree
* 7+ years of electrical engineering work experience
* CAD experience (Solidworks, Inventor, or AutoCAD).
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to evaluate and solve complex technical problems.
* Ability to work in a flexible team environment.
* Ability to work independently.
OTHER (INCLUDE LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, SECURITY CLEARANCE, TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS, ETC.):
* Up to 20% travel required to VSE Aviation sites depending on business/project needs.
* The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
