TITLE Lecturer II in Finance, MAK College of Business and Entrepreneurship JOB SUMMARY This position involves full-time teaching in the College of Business. The teaching assignment will support primarily the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance and also the Master of Business Administration (MBA). Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses and engaging fully in the mission of the College. The position will require face-to-face, hybrid and online teaching. Presence is required on the Denton campus to teach and engage in College, Departmental and University meetings, and other activities. ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS Reports to: Department Chair of Accounting and Finance, MAK College of Business and Entrepreneurship Supervises: May supervise Graduate Assistants as needed PRIMARY DUTIES - May include, but are not limited to the following: Teaching five undergraduate or graduate courses per semester, including Foundations of Money Management and Financial Planning, which are delivered in multiple teaching formats. Demonstrating currency through active participation in academic or applied research aligned with stated professional goals, or through ongoing professional engagement activities in finance. Page 1 of 3 Lecturer II of Finance Service activities are also required and are expected to support the attainment of program or College goals and may involve service to students, to the College, the university, or the community. These are identified and measured in consultation with the department chair or dean. Maintaining office hours that meet departmental expectations. Attending regular departmental or college meetings. Although the position is based on the Denton campus, hybrid classes may be delivered on the Dallas campus. Performing other duties as required. EDUCATION The candidate must have at least a Master's degree in Finance a closely related discipline, plus significant and substantive professional experience. EXPERIENCE Excellent oral and written communications skills are also required. Prior teaching experience is desired. ATTENDANCE The faculty member must deliver courses as scheduled, and be physically present for faculty meetings and scheduled university activities. In-person office hours are also required. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES - The following are essential: * Knowledge of the discipline and ability to teach various courses within the program as required * Strong interpersonal skills. * Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. * Ability to build and direct students teams * Ability to plan and deliver oral presentations * Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public * Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment, including university related software and email * Working knowledge of technology and systems used to deliver educational programs to students, such as Canvas, Blackboard, Microsoft Office, SPSS, etc. Page 2 of 3 Lecturer II of Finance PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
