A Red Valve Maintenance Tech I will maintain and keep in working condition all plant machinery, machine tools and equipment. You will also assist in installing new machinery and attachments, as well as the setup of present equipment, post relocation. This position requires highly motivated self-starters who thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The candidate will focus on maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing production. Requires basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience and may require vocational or technical education. Problems are typically of a routine nature but may require interpretation or deviation from standard procedures. Works within established procedures and guidelines with limited ability to modify methods and approach. Completes assigned tasks with a moderate degree of supervision. Follows established safety/environmental practices and regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:


  • Perform preventative maintenance and ensures that all plant equipment is maintained and in working order
  • Active member on the safety team and with safety remediation
  • Disassemble, repair plant equipment and systems as needed
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots plant equipment and system issues
  • Assist in installing, leveling, set up, and startup of new machinery and equipment. Also, assist in anchoring and leveling or machinery and equipment after relocation
  • Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements
  • Escalates equipment issues as necessary
  • Responsible for maintaining high quality standards
  • Participate in Kaizen events and continuous improvement/lean initiatives
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area through 5S and housekeeping
  • May need to operate a forklift
  • Participates in special projects as required



Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of two years related manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in machine operation.

Skills/Experience


  • 3-5 years of maintenance experience
  • Required: Demonstrate a high level of energy, drive, enthusiasm, and professionalism
  • Required: Intermediate ability to read blueprints, layouts, diagrams, drawings, etc.
  • Required: Intermediate ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
  • Required: Basic mathematical abilities
  • Required: Must be able to take direction and work as part of a team
  • Required: Basic ability to read, write, and communicate
  • Required: Ethical conduct
  • Required: Ability to operate mandrels, cranes, hoists, and other various equipment typical in a manufacturing environment, as well as various hand power tools
  • Required: Ability to perform physical manufacturing work; good mechanical aptitude
  • Required: Must be able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis
  • Required: Must be able to pass a background check and a ten panel drug screening
  • Required: Basic electrical and welding experience
  • Preferred: Basic computer skills
  • Preferred: Experience working with the following materials is preferred: rubber, elastomers, metals
  • Preferred: Certified in OSHA programs and practices
