We are seeking a Digital Application and eCommerce Developer to lead the digital transformation for Hamilton Beach Brands. This role calls for a technical expert well-versed in headless ecommerce engines, payment gateways, and microservice architecture to spearhead the development and implementation of cloud-based solutions, ensuring stable Ecommerce operations, and guiding the migration of legacy systems to the cloud. This is a leadership role, requiring collaboration with cross-functional teams, particularly digital marketing, to shape architectural system design and roadmaps. A deep understanding of the consumer goods industry, coupled with a strong background in IT, is essential for success in this position. This position is a hybrid role in Glen Allen, VA.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Planning:

• Oversee the development of cloud transformation strategy and plan with a cloud-first approach. Develops cloud frameworks, methods and tools in alignment with overall architecture.
• Accountable for stable operation of Ecommerce by managing stability issues, proactively identifying negative trends with technology ecosystem, developing scalable and stable architecture solutions. Stay abreast of eCommerce, Technology and AI industry trends and identify opportunities to enhance HBB Digital solutions.

Digital Transformation & Innovation:

• Accountable as HBB's domain expert in cloud and eCommerce technologies applying technical experience, with deep technical skills designing and implementing cloud-based solutions that promote business strategy goals through digital transformation, cloud adoption, optimization, and automation with an IoT & eCommerce focus.
• This position will architect and mentor cross functional teams that support Hamilton Beach Brands websites. This role requires a prominent level of technical expertise and familiarity with headless ecommerce engines, payment gateways and micro service architecture. You will work closely with the digital marketing teams to implement determine a project's specifications and scope and translate the information into architectural system design, roadmap, best practice guidelines, governance, and project scope/resource plans.

Technical Architecture & Implementation:

• IT Lead in third party websites & non-IT managed entities to new cloud solutions. Develop transition roadmaps and architecture patterns to migrate legacy systems and their integrations to cloud architectures, including serverless technologies
• Serve as the subject matter expert in solution architecture, integration, secure development, strategy technical execution capability assessment, cloud, web and mobility platforms to deliver solutions enabling business growth and sustainability

Security & Compliance:

• Partner and execute with Cyber, Internal Audit and IT teams on required risk management practices for NIST compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems
• 7 or more years' experience in IT
• 3 -7 years' experience in headless user interface development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks, REST and GraphQL APIs, and solid understanding of microservices-based architecture patterns
• 3 - 7 years related experience in Bootstrap, Angular JS, REACT, NoSQL DB, API, Cascading Style Sheets, HTML5, JavaScript, Agile Software Development Methodology1
• 1-3 years prior experience implementing eCommerce tools and microservices based on commerce platforms
• Experience in working with Programming languages such as Java, Python, PHP knowledge of server technologies including Linux, Apache, Node.js, Nginx, Ruby on RAILS. Experience on working with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to understand business requirements and translate them into sustainable designs for solutions
• Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and independently with business functions to achieve product and project results
• Experience with generally accepted accounting principles and IT General Controls and SOX systems
