A combined role of Medical Assistant (MA) and Patient Services Representative (PSR). This position primarily involves MA responsibilities with occasional PSR duties.

What you will do:

Medical Assistant Duties:

  • Prepare patients for physical examinations.
  • Obtain specimens and conduct select point-of-care laboratory tests.
  • Record and manage test results to ensure timely medical care.

Patient Services Representative Duties:

  • Provide front desk coverage: answer calls, schedule appointments, and greet patients.
  • Register new patients in the computer system and schedule tests.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Process patient charges, apply insurance coverage, calculate adjustments, and handle payments.

Position Highlights:

  • Hourly Pay Range: $19.39-28.84 The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
  • Location: Will float between Walk in Clinics in Downers Grove, Elmhurst, Naperville, Plainfield, and Woodridge
  • Per Diem as needed can be scheduled any time Monday-Friday 8 am -730 pm, rotating weekends and rotating holidays
  • Required Travel: Yes

What you will need:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • A minimum of three months previous business office OR healthcare based experience
  • Previous insurance and managed care experience
  • Medical terminology or coding experience
  • Excellent keyboarding skills
  • A valid driver's license is required if the incumbent is selected to perform related duties at an off-site location. If the incumbent uses their personal vehicle, the incumbent must maintain automobile liability coverage as required by law and evidence of such coverage may be requested
  • Current CPR Certification preferred
