Engineering Laboratory Technician - Refrigeration

All about the role:

In this role you will provide development and test support for the robustness and quality of the refrigerator design, including key properties, functionalities, and product authority approval.

This individual will be responsible to carry out all testing for complete products, subsystems, cooling system and modules related to the refrigeration and technical specifications of the domestic refrigerators in compliance with the relevant internal, national, and international standards.

What you'll do:

  • Perform experimental testing and validation activities (Work Orders):

  • Perform a variety of research/routine experiments and laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to support projects.

  • Record, analyze, and critically/pragmatically evaluate test results; prepare and review test reports.

  • Proactively contribute to the development of test procedures and laboratory quality manual.

  • Ensure testing according to relevant specifications for approval:

  • Cooperate with external institutes for certification and standardization activities.

  • Ensure compliance with standards and expectations of consumer-product-test-institutes

  • Component/product safety certification according to relevant standards

  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and custom experimental setups.

  • Use a variety of equipment such as digital multi meters, hi-pot, acetylene torch and hand tools.

  • Ensure compliance with work environment and safety regulations

  • Support Product Development, Quality and other Electrolux functions.

  • Failure root cause analysis and support to R&D departments during resolution

  • Competitor analysis

Qualifications required:

  • Associates degree in the fields of engineering, industrial maintenance or electronics required

  • Previous experience as a lab technician in a R&D environment (preferred)

  • General mechanical and plumbing skills.

  • Electrical skills, consisting of wiring, schematic reading, wire diagrams, and controls.

  • Technical report writing skills.

  • Proficient with PC software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power point. Advanced math skills (ie Algebra) required.
