Printpack Jackson is seeking a qualified candidate to join our team as a Press Operator. An ideal candidate will have strong initiative, prior machine operating experience, and strong troubleshooting skills on heavy machinery.

This is a 2nd shift (3p-11p) Monday - Friday. Candidates must be willing to transition to either 2nd or 3rd. Starting pay is $22.06/hr with a $2.50/hr shift differential for hours worked between 7p and 7a.

**Candidates must be able to train on days for 4-6 months before transitioning to permanent shift, but this is not guaranteed.

The Press Operator is responsible for the overall operation of the press. Duties of this job include, but are not limited to; job set up (which includes changing print cylinders, anilox rolls, ink, doctor blades) as well as the efficient operation of the press. The efficient operation of the press includes, but is not limited to, the production of material to specification. These duties include color matching and adjusting the equipment to produce the best product at the most efficient and effective speed.

Skills Required:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • A score of 14/14 plates using the Ishihara's Test for Color Blindness
  • Prior experience as a Press Assistant/Operator, Ink or Pre-press Technician
  • Able to read layouts
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to read measuring instruments including a tape measure
  • Knowledge of dimensional measurements
  • Able to work with fractions and decimals
  • Ability to climb ladders, lift and carry up to 50lbs. individually as well as bend and stoop to access lower decks of the press
  • Willingness and ability to work any shift
  • Associates in Formal or greater level of counseling are not eligible to apply.
