Job Summary: The VMware Horizon Migration Specialist will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing the migration of virtual desktop infrastructures to VMware Horizon. This role requires in-depth technical expertise, meticulous planning, and excellent communication skills to ensure seamless transitions with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess current virtual desktop infrastructure and develop detailed migration plans to VMware Horizon.

Design and implement VMware Horizon environments, including Horizon View, Unified Access Gateway, and Horizon Cloud.

Execute migration activities, including data and application transfer, configuration adjustments, and user onboarding.

Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compatibility and integration with existing systems and applications.

Optimize VMware Horizon performance and troubleshoot issues during and after migration.

Develop and document migration processes, procedures, and best practices.

Provide technical support and training to end-users during the migration process.

Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices throughout the migration.

Monitor and report on migration progress, identifying and resolving any issues promptly.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

5+ years of experience with VMware Horizon, including Horizon View, Unified Access Gateway, and Horizon Cloud.

Proven experience in planning and executing large-scale virtual desktop migrations.

Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, including VMware vSphere and ESXi.

Experience with Windows Server and desktop operating systems.

Familiarity with network protocols and services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.).

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Project management experience is a plus.
