| Essential Job Duties |
We are seeking a highly skilled
HVAC Mechanic to join our dynamic team. The primary purpose of this role is to expertly maintain, repair, and operate heating, cooling, steam/hot water boilers, and boiler auxiliary equipment, all falling under the
HVAC category. In addition, this position involves performing electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance within our service zone. If you are passionate about

Key responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
Maintain, repair, and install plumbing systems and associated equipment/fixtures, including cutting, threading, assembling, and installing pipe; connecting valves, caulking joints, and testing jobs; and installing gas, water, and sanitary fixtures/equipment with their supports, hangers, and foundations- Perform journey-level work up to 600 vac in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of secondary electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures, including conduit wire, electrical panels, breakers, switch gear, magnetic starters, disconnects, motors, light fixtures, ballasts, switches, and receptacles
Correct and repair control system faults, adjust or replace temperature controls, regulators, humidity controllers, and sensors; repair or adjust pneumatic control valves and regulators; and perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration and air conditioning equipment per manufacturer's instructions- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair boilers, fan turbines, pumps, condensate receivers, steam lines, expansion joints, strainers, pressure-reducing stations, piping, insulation, air compressors, water softeners, and other equipment for generating and controlling steam, requiring pipe fitting and other skills
- Lift and transport materials weighing up to 60 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations and perform a wide range of physically demanding tasks in diverse environments, ensuring safe handling practices and maintaining productivity.
Perform tasks requiring standing for extended periods, working in confined spaces, and utilizing various tools. Safely climb and work from different types of ladders to access elevated or below-grade areas (such as roofs, above-ceiling spaces, and utility pits).. All essential tasks must be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.

| Other Responsibilities |
- Participate in the quarterly on-call rotation, carrying a pager for one week approximately every 10-14 weeks.
- This position is designated as essential personnel and may be required to report to work during adverse weather or University schedule changes.
- May assist with snow and ice removal and other emergency response tasks as directed by a supervisor.

Qualifications
| Minimum Experience/Education |
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification(s).
Optional Guidelines: Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with pneumatic and DOC-type control systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly with supervisors, coworkers, and the public, and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Experience in HVAC trades, including plumbing, electrical, and boiler systems.
CFC Universal Certification is preferred.
