JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State York is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our athletics team as an Assistant Cross Country Coach. The successful candidate will assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the cross country program, including training, mentoring, recruiting, and administration. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about cross country and dedicated to fostering the athletic and personal growth of student-athletes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and conducting practices, training sessions, and team meetings.
  • Provide individualized coaching and feedback to student-athletes to improve their performance and development.
  • Promote a positive team culture and a commitment to the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal responsibility.
  • Adhere to all PSUAC and USCAA rules and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cross country training techniques, strategies, and rules.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • A commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.

Work Schedule:

  • This is a part-time position with variable hours, including evenings and weekends, based on the team's practice and competition schedule.

This job requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid US
driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required
in addition to standard background checks.

This job requires the following 3 publicly available clearances:
* PA State Police Criminal Background Check
* PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
* FBI Criminal Background Check
