The on call position coordinator works collaboratively with full time coordinators and other on call coordinators from the Dept of Emergency Medicine through the Acute Care Research Coordinator Service Organization to enroll acutely ill patients in research studies. These studies have protocols with restricted time windows for enrollments (less than 24 hours) from the sentinel event (such as a stroke, heart attack, head injury, surgery etc.). The on call team member responds to Emergency Department or co-investigator requests to screen and enroll eligible patients.
