What You Can Expect

At ENGIE, you'll help improve the reliability, performance, and long-term value of a large fleet of utility-scale wind and solar assets across North America. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll provide engineering expertise supporting wind turbine reliability and operational performance throughout the United States and Canada.

This role focuses on identifying and solving complex mechanical reliability challenges, conducting root cause analyses, implementing corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that improve turbine availability and asset performance. You'll own and support projects related to equipment reliability, condition monitoring, maintenance performance, QA/QC initiatives, and emerging technologies while partnering with Operations, Maintenance, OEMs, contractors, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver sustainable solutions across the fleet.

What You'll Do

  • Support ENGIE's North American wind fleet by identifying opportunities to improve asset reliability, availability, and operational performance
  • Lead investigations into mechanical equipment failures and perform root cause analyses to identify corrective and preventive actions
  • Evaluate wind turbine component condition and performance using inspections, monitoring systems, operating data, SCADA trends, and engineering analysis
  • Develop and implement repair strategies, retrofits, maintenance improvements, and reliability initiatives that enhance fleet performance and equipment availability
  • Create, maintain, and standardize engineering documentation, technical procedures, performance metrics, and best practices across the fleet
  • Provide technical recommendations and engineering guidance to site teams, leadership, OEMs, contractors, third-party service providers, and other stakeholders regarding reliability and maintenance decisions
  • Lead or support fleet-wide engineering programs, technology evaluations, pilot projects, and continuous improvement initiatives, while communicating technical findings and recommendations to a variety of stakeholders

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience supporting utility-scale wind generation assets with responsibilities related to reliability engineering, operations engineering, maintenance engineering, and performance improvement
  • Demonstrated experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and implementing corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and operational performance
  • Working knowledge of wind turbine technologies, major component failure modes, maintenance practices, and operational performance drivers
  • Experience managing complex technical projects and engineering investigations while independently driving initiatives from problem identification through resolution
  • Experience developing or improving engineering processes, standards, procedures, performance metrics, or reliability programs

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid in-office work policy and is not eligible for remote work
  • Must be available to travel domestically/internationally (US & Canada) to operational wind sites in the ENGIE fleet, up to 20% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
