General Responsibilities:

Terracon Consultants, Inc. is seeking an innovative Geotechnical Project Engineer to join our Central Engineering & Delivery (CE&D) group. In this role you will manage large geotechnical projects for our biggest clients, leveraging our cuttingedge tools. Working remotely, you will collaborate with local engineers, subjectmatter experts, and National Account Managers across our 180office network to deliver consistent, highquality results in diverse geological settings while supporting resource management, scheduling, and budgeting within the PMO.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

Curiosity is key to this role. You will be asking questions to learn our client's approach to site selection, design and construction and to learn from Terracon's local experts in our offices where the projects are being executed. You will also work with the CE&D team to discover, develop and deploy innovative ways to get work done.
Technical aspects of this role may include

  • Preparation of proposals and cost estimates, tracking project progress, budgets, and recommending changes.
  • Assisting in the execution of geotechnical field exploration using standard and innovative tools,
  • Assignment, review, and evaluation of laboratory and field data for site characterization.
  • Geotechnical engineering analysis, calculations, and recommendations,
  • Design and development of plans and specifications,
  • Writing, preparation, and review of related reports for the services provided.
  • Reviewing drawings and collaboration with construction teams to assure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Observation and inspection of construction,
  • Research and resolution of design and construction problems.
  • Communication of complex engineering issues and concepts to technical and non-technical clients and project teams in a collaborative manner.
Requirements:
  • BS or MS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering; PE license preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years experience managing geotechnical projects for large infrastructure clients.
  • Proven programmanagement skills with ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Strong knowledge of geotechnical investigation methods and data interpretation.
  • Excellent communication and clientfacing abilities.
  • Ability to travel nationwide for site visits and meetings.
  • Experience working in a fastpaced, matrixed organization.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards.
