Position Title: Welder

Wage: $22.00 per hour

Shift: 1st, 2nd

Hours: 5:00am-3:15pm; 3:00pm-1:30am

QPS Employment Group has a great Welder position available at a company in Dubuque, IA. This position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in both manual and robotic welding in a collaborative environment. Candidates can contribute through precise manual welding or by operating and maintaining robotic welding systems, making it a versatile role within the manufacturing team.

Welder Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Program, set up, and operate robotic welding equipment according to specifications.

- Troubleshoot and repair robotic welding systems, controllers, sensors, and peripheral devices.

- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on welding robots and tooling.

- Monitor weld quality, making adjustments to optimize performance and consistency.

- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.

- Develop and refine robotic welding programs to enhance productivity and reduce scrap.

- Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and quality records.

- Follow all safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement efforts focused on safety, efficiency, and quality.

- Keep work area clean and organized.

- Safely set up parts for welding using hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures.

- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

- Position, align, and fit components into fixtures with precision.

- Operate manual welding equipment (e.g., MIG, TIG) to weld various materials and thicknesses.

- Ensure welds meet quality standards through inspection and testing.

- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

- Perform related tasks to support quality and safety standards.

Welder Requirements:

- Proficient in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, etc.).

- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.

- Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot robotic systems and perform manual welding.

- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.

- Welding experience or completion of a trade school welding program required.

- Successful completion of an in-house weld test.

- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and good attendance.

- High school diploma or GED required.
