What You'll Do:
- Perform field modifications, retrofits, upgrades, and commissioning activities on rail vehicles and related systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems ranging from 24VDC control circuits to 480VAC power systems.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical equipment issues.
- Conduct testing, inspections, and operational validation to verify system performance, safety, and installation quality.
- Document commissioning activities, corrective actions, deficiencies, and testing results while supporting customer-site startup and warranty activities.
What You'll Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 6+ years of experience performing field modifications and validating system functionality.
- 6+ years of experience using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
- 6+ years of experience working on any type of machinery or vehicle such as Cars, Trucks, Submarine, Boat, Tractor, Heavy Machinery, Welding, etc.
- 6+ years of experience working on appliances or any type of electronics.
- 6+ years of troubleshooting experience involving electrical, mechanical, and electromechanical systems.
What Sets You Apart:
- Strong working knowledge of electrical systems from 24VDC through 480VAC.
- Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, technical manuals, and engineering change documentation.
- Skilled in the use of electrical test equipment including multimeters, clamp meters, insulation testers, and related diagnostic tools.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and solve complex technical problems with limited supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Experience commissioning rail vehicles, transit systems, industrial equipment, or other complex electromechanical systems.
- Ability to perform software-assisted diagnostics and fault analysis.
- Familiarity with CAN communication networks, PLC controls, or vehicle control systems.
- Previous field service or startup/commissioning experience in a customer-facing environment.
