Buyer/Planner I- FSC

Position Summary

Position Summary:

To purchase all needed materials in a timely manner and to coordinate assembly jobs to meet customer deadlines.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for planning all material requirements for multiple product lines.

• Determine order quantity and timing per analysis of MRP report.

• Release purchase orders with vendors and coordinate shop floor scheduling of assembly and test.

• Expedite purchased and manufactured material.

• Meet with suppliers to resolve problems and improve vendor performance.

• Coordinate processing customer orders efficiently within the operation to meet their delivery requirements. (Customer Expedites)

• Search for new vendors to improve quality and pricing

• Maintain inventory at required levels.

• Work with Supplier, including Supplier Development and continuous improvement.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Proficient in the use of a personal computer, especially Excel.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management specialized in Materials, Procurement or equivalent experience.

• C.I.M. and/or A.P.I.C.S. certification is desirable and would be a definite asset.

• Two to three years' experience in Purchasing and/or Production Control
