JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX News Media is looking for a Manager, Insights & Analytics to support our growing portfolio of subscription products, anchored today by FOX Nation. This is a hands-on analytics role. You will work across the full subscription lifecycle - how subscribers are acquired and retained, and what they actually do once they subscribe. Engagement and content consumption, marketing and activation, user journeys, churn and cohort behavior all sit within your scope. The common thread is SQL: we are looking for someone who can get to any subscription dataset, understand what it does and does not say, and turn it into an answer a business partner can use. Because the role is scoped broadly rather than by function, it can flex as the portfolio grows. You may work across products alongside a marketing-focused counterpart, or take end-to-end analytics ownership of a single business unit depending on where the business needs depth. You will work closely with key operational stakeholders to understand how to best interpret data shifts day to day and identify trends to inform the business. A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITES: Subscriber & Engagement Reporting
- Build and own engagement reporting for subscription products - active days, session frequency, content starts and completion, title and category performance, and platform mix across web, mobile app, CTV, and third-party platforms
- Analyze subscriber acquisition, retention, churn (voluntary and involuntary), cancellations, and plan mix and their impact on engagement
- Connect engagement to retention, identifying the early-tenure behaviors that separate subscribers who stay from those who churn, and translating that into onboarding, content, and lifecycle recommendations
- Build and maintain dashboards tracking key subscription and engagement metrics, in partnership with Data Engineering
- Maintain and evolve recurring performance comparisons (month-over-month, cohort-over-cohort, pre- and post-launch), proactively flagging anomalies such as app issues, tracking gaps, and data quality problems before they distort reporting
- Provide guidance to finance on cost as it relates to engagement of programming and inform future content strategies and acquisitions
Hands-On Data & Query Work
- Write and maintain SQL (Snowflake or comparable) against subscription, billing, engagement, campaign, and behavioral data - joins, aggregations, CTEs, and window functions against large and imperfect sources
- Conduct cohort analysis to identify trends by acquisition channel, offer, plan type, tenure, platform, and content affinity
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies across platforms and internal tracking (naming mismatches, missing records, deduplication logic) and resolve them at the query level
- Support the transition from manual, on-demand reporting to self-service dashboards in partnership with Data Engineering
Marketing, Lifecycle & Campaign Measurement
- Analyze campaign performance across marketing and CRM channels - email, push, in-app, SMS, and paid media - and connect activity to downstream subscriber acquisition, engagement, and retention
- Support attribution analysis (e.g., first-touch) to measure the impact of campaigns on subscription conversion and migration efforts
- Conduct segmentation analysis to surface engagement trends, at-risk segments, and personalization opportunities
- Support experimentation and test design, helping isolate confounding variables (for example content quality versus message format, or seasonality versus offer effect) so results are interpretable
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Translate analysis into clear, digestible summaries and recommendations for Programming, Marketing, CRM, Content, Product, and Finance stakeholders, tailoring the narrative to each audience
- Respond to ad hoc requests from senior stakeholders with quick turnaround, clear caveats, and accurate data
- Flag data quality issues and tracking gaps to Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering partners, and follow through to resolution
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- Strong SQL skills required - able to independently write and troubleshoot queries involving joins, aggregations, CTEs, and window functions against large datasets. This is a must-have and the core of the role
- Experience in subscription, growth, product, marketing, or media analytics, or a related quantitative and reporting role
- Genuine curiosity about the whole subscriber picture - comfort moving between a churn cohort, a content engagement question, and a campaign performance read in the same week
- Experience analyzing or reporting on subscription and lifecycle metrics (acquisition, churn, cancellations, retention, LTV)
- Comfort working in a BI or visualization tool (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Hex, or similar)
- Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills for ad hoc analysis, including pivot tables
- Good communication skills - able to explain data findings, and their limitations, clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Detail-oriented, with a track record of catching and resolving data quality issues before they reach leadership
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with recurring deadlines and frequent ad hoc requests
- Experience with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor
- Familiarity with product analytics or engagement measurement tools (e.g., Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics 4, Amplitude) a plus
- Familiarity with subscription billing platforms (e.g., Recurly, Zuora, Stripe Billing) a plus
- Exposure to a CRM or lifecycle platform such as Braze a plus
- Prior experience in media, streaming, publishing, or another content subscription business a plus
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Math, Business Analytics) or equivalent practical experience
