The final salary and professional ranking fora selected candidate will be determined based on factors such asthequalifications of the individual, including their work experience, scholarship, and service;internal equity; and alignment with the university's approved pay structures. Criminal Background Check: Yes About the Department: VIVA, the academic library consortium of 70 nonprofit academic libraries in the Commonwealth of Virginia, provides, in an equitable, cooperative and cost-effective manner, enhanced access to library and information resources for Virginia's higher education community. A dynamic organization serving community colleges and research organizations alike, VIVA members include all 39 state-assisted (public) colleges and universities, as well as 30 independent (private, nonprofit) institutions, and the Library of Virginia. Since 1994, VIVA has worked to empower its member libraries through collaborative collection development, resource sharing, open and affordable initiatives, community development, and shared central infrastructure. With the aim of leveling the academic playing field for students and researchers, and with guidance from collaborative and engaged member organizations, VIVA's dedicated central staff oversees the consortium's approximately $28 million budget and programs. About the Position: Reporting to the Associate Director, the Resource Sharing and Acquisitions Librarian leads VIVA's resource sharing programs and supports the renewal and acquisitions processes for the consortium's shared resources. Working with central staff and member libraries across the Commonwealth, the position advances the resource sharing capabilities of VIVA member libraries and supports collaborative initiatives that empower Virginia's academic libraries. Through strategic analysis of statewide needs, member engagement, and cross-institutional coordination, this position ensures that VIVA's resource sharing programs are responsive to the needs of Virginia's academic library community.
