The Department of Psychiatry is seeking a full-time fixed-term faculty member at the rank of Clinical Instructor to work at UNC Youth Behavioral Health ( YBH) in Butner, NC. UNC YBH is an advanced 54-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital for children, adolescents, and transitional-age youth (age 18-24) with the purpose of providing services to families seeking specialized, inpatient behavioral health treatment. YBH operates with an integrated, multidisciplinary approach.

Principal duties of the position includes:

Applicants for the Clinical Instructor position must have a Master's degree in Social Work or a relevant human services field. Candidates must be fully licensed or at minimum, credentialed with an associate status. The following licenses will be considered: LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, LCSWA, LCMHCA or LMFTA.

An excellent working knowledge and experience with mental health conditions specific to children, adolescents and parents or guardians requiring inpatient hospitalization and evidence-based treatments for these conditions; experience with treatment planning for mental health conditions in this population. A strong background in collaborating with multiple disciplines including psychiatry, psychology, recreational therapies, education, nursing. Experience assisting in establishing community-based services.

UNC Department of Psychiatry is committed to clinical service and teaching. Experience and interest in teaching or supervision of social work externs, psychology or master's level interns, and medical residents can be an integral part of the positions based on applicants' preference.
