Job summary

The CDL Driver is responsible for delivering materials such as pipe, valves, fittings, water heaters, plumbing fixtures, and HVAC equipment within a 100-mile radius. The role includes driving, assisting with warehouse duties, and ensuring accurate delivery and customer service.

Responsibilities



  • Deliver materials by the scheduled time.
  • Validate directions and ensure material is properly secured and within weight limits.
  • Assist with unloading materials and ensure delivery tickets are provided and signed by customers.
  • Pick up customer returns and validate product matches for credit requests.
  • Pick up local purchase orders and secure packing lists.
  • Verify all materials are unloaded and placed at delivery sites.
  • Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Fuel the truck as necessary.
  • Report vehicle problems, moving violations, accidents, and defects to the supervisor.
  • Assist warehouse personnel with pulling, preparing, receiving, verifying, staging, and stocking materials.
  • Comply with Department of Transportation (DOT) standards and company policies.
  • Represent the company professionally and provide quality customer service.
  • Work overtime as needed.


Qualifications



  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) held for a minimum of one year.
  • At least one year of experience driving the class of vehicles assigned.
  • General computer skills for delivery tracking device use.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Awareness that vehicles are equipped with cameras monitoring deliveries.
  • Required state-issued self-certification designation of non-excepted interstate with proof.

Work overtime as needed.
