Job summary

The Data Analyst supports clean energy initiatives by working with large and complex datasets to create actionable insights. This role involves querying multiple data repositories, validating data quality, performing analysis, and developing reports and visualizations for project teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities



  • Review, validate, and analyze large and complex datasets
  • Work across multiple data repositories and source systems
  • Combine datasets using SQL, including complex joins and data transformations
  • Identify data quality issues, anomalies, trends, and outliers
  • Determine data appropriateness and sufficiency for analyses
  • Translate data into meaningful business and operational insights
  • Build reports, dashboards, visualizations, and other analytical products
  • Develop repeatable reporting and analytical processes
  • Support testing and validation of analytical tools and methodologies
  • Troubleshoot data issues and perform root-cause analysis
  • Communicate findings and escalate data issues appropriately
  • Collaborate with engineers, program managers, and subject matter experts
  • Refine data aggregations, such as rolling customer account-level information into building-level profiles


Qualifications



  • 2 years of professional data analysis experience
  • Strong SQL experience
  • Experience analyzing large and/or complex datasets
  • Experience working with data from multiple source systems
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined processes
  • Ability to identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and data quality issues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to investigate, track, communicate, and escalate issues with appropriate urgency
  • Ability to manage multiple workflows and priorities in a fast-paced environment


Preferred Skills



  • Utility industry experience (highly preferred but not required)
  • Experience with electric utility/customer usage data
  • Exposure to AMI, GIS, or real-time operational datasets
  • Clean energy experience, including EVs, batteries, electrification, or grid-related initiatives
  • Python
  • Databricks
  • Other querying/data technologies
  • Database management
  • Data integration and/or data pipeline management
  • Data engineering experience
  • Experience working with very large datasets and complicated data relationships/joins
  • Power BI or other data visualization tools
  • Bulk data testing and development/execution of testing and verification plans
  • Data pipeline troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
  • Product, application, or analytical tool development experience

  • Bachelor's Degree required
