Description

MaineHealth Cancer Risk & Prevention is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate/Assistant to provide comprehensive cancer genetic services in their outpatient clinic. The successful candidate will perform patient evaluations, establish diagnoses, coordinate and interpret genetic testing, and provide ongoing clinical management and follow-up care for individuals and families with hereditary cancer risk in collaboration with an established team of genetic counselors. This is an opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary program focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and advancing access to genetic risk assessment and cancer prevention services. The majority of the candidate's clinical effort will be dedicated to Cancer Risk & Prevention services with additional responsibilities supporting the Breast Care team.

The successful candidate will be expected to complete an intensive Genomic Cancer Risk Assessment training through City of Hope within the first two years after hire.

Schedule: 1.0 FTE a flexible 40-hour work week.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program with a Master's Degree level of education preferred.
  • Must be able to see patients of all ages.
  • License/Certifications: Current license issued by the State of Maine as Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate, or eligibility for Maine licensure. Current certification as NP or PA required. BLS certification is required.
  • Experience: Three or more years of experience in a physician office setting preferred.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfort with use of technology and web-based practice tools.
  • Proficiency with the use of Electronic Medical Records.
  • Comfort with rapid change.

This position offers:

  • The pay range for this position is $118,000 to $153,000 annually based on the candidate's level of experience.
