JOB DESCRIPTION No Job Description for a position can possibly include all duties which may be requested by guest or required by the hotel. The objective of all positions is to effectively provide the services personally, or to immediately refer requests to the appropriate department manager. The following is a summary of the major responsibilities of the position. DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage | Stewarding JOB TITLE: Steward REPORTS TO: Assistant Executive Steward, Executive Steward JOB PURPOSE: To ensure all the equipment and food required for the function(s) are available to the waiters at the appropriate time and to wash and clean all cookware from kitchen production on areas in accordance to Omni standards. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: * Knowledge of dishwasher presentation; how to set up, how to clean, chemicals and temperature setting of dishwasher. * Clean pots, pans and all other cookware utensils. All cookware and utensils will be completely cleaned and sanitized. * Keep kitchen floor clean and wash area free of food residue or any other debris. * Knowledge of floor maintenance, equipment used and good knowledge of chemical safety & usage. * Knowledge of dumpster procedures and cardboard. * Waste removal and safe lifting practices associated with waste removal. * Completes other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: * Ability to communicate with Supervisor and Department Manager. * Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance. * Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays. ENVIRONMENT & POSITION ANALYSIS: * Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. * Stand or walk for an extended period or for an entire work shift. * Requires repetitive motion of arms, hands and legs. TOOLS & EQUIPMENT: * Queen-Mary cart, utility cart, glass racks dollies and Tilt Truck (trash cart). * Gloves, Aprons, glass racks, flatware racks and bus tub. * Mop bucket, mop, broom, dustpan and floor squeegees. * Inventory Scale. * Ware washer machine and chemicals. * China, flatware and glassware.
