THE POSITION

As a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 2 with the Department of Corrections (DOC), you will step into a leadership role that drives essential operations across the State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Pine Grove. This position offers challenge, responsibility, and the chance to oversee complex systems that keep the institution running efficiently. Your guidance will strengthen maintenance teams, support critical projects, and ensure that every facility component performs at a high standard. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position oversees complex maintenance operations that support reliable, and efficient facility functioning across SCI Pine Grove. As a Corrections Facility Maintenance Manager 2, you will perform the following duties:

  • Team Supervision: Direct Facilities Maintenance Manager I staff and maintenance personnel in all core functions and daily operations
  • Operational Oversight: Manage maintenance programs involving construction, demolition, utilities, heating and cooling systems, electrical and mechanical components, control equipment, grounds care, and fleet activities
  • Compliance Monitoring: Conduct inspections with supervisors to ensure safety, regulatory compliance, and adherence to accrediting and certifying requirements
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate construction and renovation efforts with departmental, contracted, and Department of General Services (DGS) staff
  • Budget Management: Estimate needs, prepare annual budget requirements, and ensure proper inventories and availability of spare parts
  • Personnel Administration: Assign daily work schedules, interview candidates, approve leave, evaluate performance, and take corrective action when needed

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday.
  • This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Facility Maintenance Manager 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years of experience as a Utilities Supervisor (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Seven years of experience in the construction, maintenance, or repair of buildings; or the operation, maintenance and repair of utility services equipment, including three years in a managerial or supervisory capacity; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
