JOB DESCRIPTION

GENERAL FUNCTION


The Materials Handler II is primarily responsible for the daily stocking, security and upkeep of the supply warehouse of manufacturing packaging materials. Maintains excel spreadsheets, SAP ordering and inventory counts.



MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Retrieves freight from the dock and disassembles, organizes and stores freight into designated locations.
  • Assists leadership to maintain inventory levels of the packaging materials warehouse, ensure adequate levels of materials are available to perform duties.
  • Identifies and reports stock levels below minimum quantities to supervision and management.
  • Identifies and reports excess inventory stock levels to supervision and
  • Inventory & Cycle Counting
  • Space management (Set up and designate material locations)
  • Assumes additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed or directed.
  • Maintains various spreadsheets, files, and/or filing systems, maintaining the business needs.
  • Any other duties as deemed necessary required or requested by Leadership or the Operation.
  • Serves as point-person between all internal and external departments to fulfill or coordinate Packaging related requests and inquiries.
  • Compiles daily order information via SAP.
  • Tracks orders processing lead time and delivery status.
  • Improves inventory accuracy through cycle counts.
  • Increases inventory turns by continually reviewing inventory safety stock.
  • Conducts random cycle counts for each area weekly (consumables and maintenance) and makes adjustments as needed.
  • Identifies and pulls parts along with materials needed for Planned Work Orders and PM's.
  • Prepares monthly consumable and equipment spare part usage reports.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • High School degree or equivalent
  • 2+ year(s) of experience
  • Computer literate with MS Office software programs such as Word and Excel
  • Capable of independent decision-making
  • Demonstrated flexibility and responsiveness to the needs of the business
  • Demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles
  • Demonstrated organizational skills necessary to complete assignments in a timely manner
  • Proactive in problem solving and take a lead role in resolution of spare parts and consumable items availability
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communications skills



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • 1 year experience in purchasing, data analyzing and/or inventory control
  • Experience with any procurement system
  • SAP Knowledge
