ATC is seeking a highly motivated Early-Career Embedded Software Engineer to join our Advanced Solutions Group. This team develops innovative sensing, signal processing and embedded computing systems for space, airborne and terrestrial applications.
Whether you're a recent graduate, have internship experience, or are early in your engineering career, you'll have the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers while contributing to the development of advanced, real-time systems with real-world impact.
In this role, you will help design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for processors ranging from microcontrollers to advanced System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms. You'll gain hands-on experience across the entire product lifecycle - from concept and development through testing, production, and deployment.
What You'll Do
As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will:
  • Design, develop, and test embedded software in C/C++
  • Support the integration and verification of hardware and software systems
  • Participate in system debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
  • Support products through development, production, testing, and operational deployment
  • Learn industry best practices for developing reliable software for mission-critical applications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Recent graduate or up to 2 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with C/C++ programming through coursework, internships, research projects, or professional experience
  • Exposure to embedded systems, microcontrollers, or Linux development environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Preferred / Desired Experience
Experience with one or more of the following is a plus:
  • Embedded Linux development
  • ARM-based processors or microcontrollers
  • GNU development tools
  • Real-time software development
  • Test development and data manipulation using Python
  • git or similar software configuration management (CM) tools
  • Embedded build systems (e.g. yocto, buildroot)
  • Debugging tools such as GDB, JTAG, or logic analyzers
  • Senior design projects, internships, research experience, or personal embedded systems projects
Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible to obtain a Top-Secret U.S. Government security clearance.
