Position Overview:
The Business Analyst - ERP Systems partners with business stakeholders and IT teams to analyze business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and deliver ERP solutions that increase efficiency, reduce costs, and support informed decision-making across the organization. This role supports business functions including finance, manufacturing, sales, procurement, supply chain, and inventory management.
Serving as a liaison between technical teams and business users, the Business Analyst gathers and validates requirements, supports JD Edwards EnterpriseOne configuration, coordinates testing and implementation activities, develops process and system documentation, and provides training and ongoing user support. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical abilities, business process knowledge, technical aptitude, and effective stakeholder communication to ensure solutions deliver measurable business value.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand, document, validate, and prioritize business needs, objectives, and operational processes.
- Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and discovery sessions to gather functional and technical requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear business requirements documents, functional specifications, process maps, workflows, and system enhancement recommendations.
- Evaluate proposed solutions to ensure alignment with business objectives, system capabilities, and organizational priorities.
- Maintain traceability between business requirements, system design, testing, and implementation outcomes.
ERP Configuration & System Support
- Configure and support JD Edwards EnterpriseOne applications across financial, manufacturing, sales order, procurement, and inventory modules.
- Partner with business users and technical resources to troubleshoot system issues, analyze root causes, and identify sustainable resolutions.
- Support system enhancements, integrations, reporting solutions, and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple business functions.
- Evaluate system functionality and recommend configuration changes that support evolving business and accounting requirements.
- Provide ongoing functional support to users while promoting consistent and effective system utilization.
Process Improvement & Business Value
- Analyze existing workflows and identify opportunities to streamline processes, eliminate waste, reduce costs, and improve operational efficiency.
- Recommend automation, reporting, and system enhancements that improve data accuracy, visibility, and decision-making.
- Define and monitor key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
- Support business reviews by collecting, analyzing, and presenting relevant operational and system performance data.
- Develop recommendations that balance process efficiency, quality standards, internal controls, and customer satisfaction.
Testing, Validation & Implementation
- Develop comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, scripts, and validation criteria based on approved business requirements.
- Coordinate and support user acceptance testing, defect tracking, issue resolution, and solution validation.
- Confirm that system changes and enhancements meet documented requirements before deployment.
- Participate in project planning, design reviews, implementation activities, and post-implementation support.
- Assist with change management and adoption efforts to ensure successful rollout of new or updated processes and systems.
Documentation & Training
- Develop and maintain business requirements documents, functional specifications, process maps, workflow documentation, and validation reports.
- Create user guides, knowledge base articles, standard operating procedures, and other end-user support materials.
- Prepare and deliver training for end users on ERP functionality, business processes, reporting tools, and system enhancements.
- Maintain accurate and current documentation to support system continuity, knowledge transfer, and ongoing user support.
- Communicate technical concepts in clear business terms appropriate for a variety of audiences.
Project & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and project resources throughout the solution lifecycle.
- Facilitate meetings and communicate project updates, risks, dependencies, decisions, and action items.
- Contribute to project planning, task prioritization, resource coordination, and implementation activities.
- Manage multiple assignments and competing priorities while meeting established deadlines.
- Build productive working relationships across departments and influence stakeholders toward shared business objectives.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- Experience supporting ERP systems, business applications, process improvement, business analysis, or related functions.
- Experience with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of ERP-supported business processes within finance, manufacturing, sales, procurement, supply chain, or inventory management.
- Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and translating them into functional specifications.
- Experience developing process maps, workflows, testing documentation, training materials, and end-user support resources.
- Proficiency with business intelligence tools, reporting systems, and data analysis.
- Experience supporting system testing, user acceptance testing, implementation, and validation activities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work, and contribute effectively to project planning and execution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and general business technology.
