This 47-bed unit specializes in Orthopedic and Post-Surgical Care and operates in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. Beginning in September, Four Peak Medical Center will transition to a Level 1 Trauma Center, further expanding the acuity and complexity of patients served. The unit cares for a diverse patient population, including orthopedic, surgical, and elderly patients, many of whom require hands-on support with activities of daily living. Patient Care Technicians typically assist 8-12 patients at a time and should be comfortable managing frequent admissions and discharges throughout the shift, which can total up to 18 in a single day. Key responsibilities include post-operative vital signs and monitoring, frequent ambulation, assisting with personal care such as bed baths and toileting, bed changes, and providing care for both independent and total-care patients. We are looking for Patient Care Technician with previous experience working in a hospital, acute rehabilitation facility, or a skilled nursing facility who has strong organization, adaptability, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a busy environment.

This position is afull-time Day shift working with 3-12 hour shifts from 6:00 AM-6:30 PM. We offer self-scheduling for shift and weekend coverage. Scheduled workdays may vary, as there are no set or fixed days. Weekend and Holiday Rotations are required in this role. Weekend shift differentials are offered, along with evening and night shift differentials where applicable.

Responsibilities:

JOB SUMMARY
Provides patient related care tasks based on the principles of growth and development across the life span of patients served in his/her independent unit. Assists, observes, and reports patient changes to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation relative to the care delivered.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of nurse.
  • Assists, observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered.
  • Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
  • High School Diploma or GED Required
EXPERIENCE
  • Other Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year Required
  • 6 months in acute care experience. Preferred
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Required
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Certification Preferred
  • Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT) - License Emergency Medical Tech Preferred
