Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Design, analyze, and test complex mechanical and robotic systems. You will work with engineering, product management, manufacturing, and customers to create automated machinery solutions. From concept to overseeing production, you'll be responsible for bringing automation to life. Your robust machinery designs will help customers improve their production output in the component manufacturer industry.

Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, evaluate, and support automated industrial machinery products with focus in the Component manufacturing (CM) and off-site construction industry

  • Participate in the planning, development, and deployment of mechanical architectures with integrated automation

  • Generate mechanical project execution artifacts of small to medium scale deployments (i.e. cost estimates, schedules, resource needs, risks, forecasts, status, etc.)

  • Participate in the staged-gating process (i.e. requirements reviews, design reviews, test readiness reviews, verification reviews, etc.)

  • Complete simple troubleshooting and root cause/corrective actions

  • Design, integrate, test mechanical parts and assemblies using industry best practices

  • Design, integrate, test industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems

  • Design, integrate, test industrial electro-mechanical and robotic systems

  • Develop and/or maintain project documentation (i.e. system requirements, engineering drawings, equipment manuals, test plans, project notes, etc.)

  • Ensure compliance with MiTek engineering procedures, guidelines, industry standards, and governmental regulations applicable to industrial machinery

  • Perform engineering analysis and calculations where applicable (including FEA analysis)

  • Enter new/update existing data in MRP/ERP system

  • Support Manufacturing, Marketing & Sales, Purchasing, Installation, and Customer Service Organizations throughout a product's lifecycle

  • Review and stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited university preferred

  • Up to 2 years of related experience required

  • Basic understanding of strength of materials, statics, and dynamics required

  • Proficiency with SolidWorks, PDM, & AutoCAD Mechanical or willingness to learn

  • Equivalent combination of experience and education which clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year for year basis
