As an Equipment Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting the surgical team, ensuring equipment readiness, and maintaining a safe environment for individuals and families across our organization. - Preparing surgical environments by assembling equipment, supplies, and instruments for various operative procedures.
- Assisting the surgical team with room preparation, patient transport to and from the Operating Room (OR), and patient positioning.
- Supporting nursing staff with direct patient personal needs including changing gowns, providing blankets, and cleansing.
- Performing preventative user maintenance on OR equipment by maintaining wheels, hinges, hardware, and replacing filters.
- Inspecting physical components like hoses, cords, cuffs, fiber optic cables, and bulbs to ensure peak operational safety.
- Conducting specialized equipment checks on Castle Sterilizers, Bipolar/Electrosurgical units, CUSA machines, Skytron tables, and Neurosurgery microscopes.
- Managing video and boom systems across Orthopedics and General/GYN specialties by dusting daily, replacing printer ink/paper, and resetting standards.
- Troubleshooting technical issues and configuration problems associated with surgical video equipment and specialized medical accessories.
- Serving as a Biomedical liaison to track safety inspection labels, manage product recalls, and coordinate external repairs.
- Maintaining strict aseptic technique and hospital protocols during all decontamination, cleaning, and preparation processes.
- Collaborating across departments by running critical errands to other nursing units and medical center teams.

- This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday evening shift schedule from 11am - 7pm, allowing you to support critical hospital operations while maintaining a steady work-life balance.
- You are a graduate of an accredited high school or possess an equivalent secondary education credential.
- You hold a current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- You possess a strong mechanical aptitude and full working knowledge of surgical equipment, associated medical accessories, and biomedical safety tracking.
- You demonstrate correct, safe technique in using healthcare products according to manufacturer specifications and Medical Center policies.
