Job Summary:


ArchWell Health is seeking an Accounting Manager, Reporting & Special Projects to play an integral role in the Accounting department at our rapidly growing company. This position will be responsible for managing the daily operations of multiple accounting functions, including general accounting, payroll, leases, and month-end and year-end close processes, as well as developing and maintaining accounting policies and procedures, internal controls, workflows, and systems.


Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Manage the financial close and drive the timely and accurate reporting of operating expenses in partnership with the Accounting Manager, AP & Operating Expense
  • Manage day-to-day activities within the operating expense accounting function, including reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, support, and coaching
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and high performance
  • Develop and maintain internal controls over financial reporting through risk assessment, segregation of duties, and continuous monitoring
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to build and maintain company-wide expense policies and approval matrices
  • Support with the build-out and maintenance of accounting memos, policies, and procedures in accordance with GAAP
  • Support with the research and analysis of complex accounting transactions


  • Evaluate current accounting processes and develop and implement new processes to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function


  • Contribute to the financial reporting process and coordinate with other leaders on the Finance team to produce high quality financial reporting and analysis
  • Coordinate with external auditors to support with interim and annual audits
  • Coordinate with external tax accountants to support with tax filings
  • Act as a point of contact and trusted advisor to FP&A as it pertains to expenses, support with actual vs budget analyses, and other financial insights
  • Serve as a resource and partner to cross-functional leaders, providing data and reports as requested
  • Ad-hoc projects and initiatives, as needed


Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Deep understanding of technical accounting policies, regulations, financial statements, internal controls, and procedures
  • Proven experience building and developing processes and procedures with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Experience drafting financial statements and related footnotes as well as implementing new GAAP accounting policies
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Self-starter with the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally to achieve objectives
  • Detail-oriented with strong judgment, analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to navigate complex issues and communicate solutions
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task with strong organizational skills
  • Effective communicator, able to present information clearly to internal stakeholders


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including time in a leadership role
  • Healthcare experience preferred
  • CPA designation strongly preferred
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite a plus
