Position Overview
Heritage is seeking a full-time Clinical Director to join our leadership team and oversee crisis and access-to-care programs. This influential role provides clinical leadership, staff training, operational coordination, and managerial oversight across multiple high-impact programs, including:
- 24/7 Crisis Response Call Center
- Open Access (Screening & Assessment)
- Behavioral Health Urgent Care
- 24/7 Mobile Crisis Response Team
- 24/7 The Living Room (Crisis Respite)
This leader will promote a seamless, caring, same-day response for individuals seeking help-ensuring timely access to assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, and supportive services.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Program Oversight
- Provide supervision and guidance to Program Managers overseeing crisis services and access to care.
- Lead programs operating 24/7/365, ensuring high-quality, person-centered response.
- Provide direct client care as needed during periods of high demand or staffing shortages.
Operational Excellence & Compliance
- Optimize workflows across crisis and access programs to ensure timely engagement, assessment, and linkage to care.
- Develop expertise in Mobile Crisis Response, CARES, The Living Room model, and CCBHC requirements.
- Ensure all clinical activities meet agency standards and regulatory requirements, including Rule 132/140 and SUPR 2060/2090.
- Operationalize programs to maintain high-quality service delivery and fiscal sustainability.
Staff Development & Training
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and mentoring new staff.
- Provide training on assessments, crisis counseling, case management, and discharge planning.
- Lead clinical case reviews and support continuous quality improvement.
Collaboration & Community Engagement
- Maintain strong relationships with referral sources, community providers, hospitals, and first responders.
- Strengthen internal collaboration across all clinical departments for coordinated treatment planning.
- Participate in community events, coalitions, and statewide crisis system of care learning communities.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong ability to engage individuals in behavioral health treatment
- Leadership experience in programs operating 24/7/365
- Flexibility and comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments
- Knowledge of behavioral health diagnoses and the DSM-5
- Understanding of psychiatric, substance use, medical, and community resources
- Ability to navigate and train staff in electronic health records
- Strong communication, teamwork, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Tolerance for ambiguity, uncertainty, and change
Education & Experience Requirements
- Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related human services field (required)
- Credentialed licensure as LPC, LSW, LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT, or ability to obtain clinical licensure within 12 months
- LPHA (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT) strongly preferred
- Previous experience in crisis services and clinical/administrative supervision is required
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of automobile insurance required
Salary Range
$75,000 - $90,000 per year (Commensurate with experience and licensure)
