Organization: The New York Association on Independent Living (NYAIL) is a state-wide, non-profit organization, working with Independent Living Centers across the State to eliminate physical, communications, attitudinal, and other barriers for people with disabilities. Position: Good Neighbor Volunteer Coordinator NYAIL is seeking a Good Neighbor Volunteer Coordinator to support the implementation of the Good Neighbor Program, a component of the Open Doors Program. Open Doors is a statewide initiative that helps individuals transition from institutional settings to the community. The Good Neighbor Program connects people with disabilities who need the support of a community member in order to leave the nursing home. Volunteers may act as a backup caregiver. The Volunteer Coordinator plays a key role in recruiting, training, supporting, and monitoring Good Neighbor volunteers across New York State. This position works collaboratively with the Open Doors team, Independent Living Centers (ILCs), and other stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of services and the integrity of the program. Duties and Responsibilities: The Good Neighbor Volunteer Coordinator reports to the Good Neighbor Program Director under the direction of the Open Doors Program Director. Salary and Benefits: NYAIL offers a competitive salary and benefits package including employer-paid health insurance, a 401k retirement plan, life insurance and short-term disability insurance. The salary estimate for this position is $55,000-$60,000. Location and Travel: This is an Albany-based position with remote work available.
