Do you enjoy solving complex problems, mentoring others, and using data to make decisions? If so, the Quality Laboratory Supervisor Role with Ingevity may be for you! We're looking for a Quality Laboratory Supervisor to join our Covington, VA site. We need someone who is passionate about developing people, improving processes, and ensuring the highest standards of product quality. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to lead a skilled laboratory team, influence manufacturing performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact our business and customers.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of laboratory professionals in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.

• Guide daily laboratory operations to deliver accurate and timely results that support production and customer needs.

• Champion quality systems and best practices while helping maintain compliance with established standards.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to investigate issues, solve problems, and implement sustainable solutions.

• Use data, testing results, and statistical tools to identify opportunities for improvement and drive operational excellence.

• Support the advancement of laboratory capabilities through process improvements, new technologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Bring

• A background in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering, Quality, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Experience working in laboratory, manufacturing, or quality-focused environments.

• The ability to lead, influence, and develop others while building strong working relationships.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for continuous improvement.

• Knowledge of quality systems, laboratory testing methods, and data-driven decision-making.

What Will Help You Stand Out

• Experience leading teams or projects.

• Familiarity with quality tools such as SPC, MSA, Lean, or Six Sigma.

• Experience with systems such as SAP, Proficy, Minitab, Power BI, Ignition, or similar platforms.
