Quality Laboratory Technician

Spectra Tech, Inc. is hiring for a Quality Laboratory Technician in Memphis, TN.

• Perform routine and non-routine tests on in-process samples, finished product, ingredients and manufacturing supplies
• Perform special tests and projects related to the operation as required
• Use, maintain, troubleshoot, and do minor repairs on standard laboratory apparatus for performing routine and non-routine analyses
• Compare test results and disseminate information as required
• Input data into computer for the purpose of maintaining a permanent record of all finished analyses, out-of-specification report, and end of month report
• Compare test results with current specifications and advise supervisory and production personnel of problems and/or out-of-code situations. Make recommendations as to cause and resolution of problem
• Evaluate results and independently ensure accuracy before alerting supervisory and production personnel
• Follow inventory of necessary chemicals and equipment, make out orders for timely replacement or repair
• Work with production on solution to problems
• Maintain standard of cleanliness and housekeeping in the laboratory work area
• Prepare standard solutions for running routine and non-routine tests
• Perform related analyses and assignments as required

• High school diploma or GED required
• College degree preferred

• 3 years related work experience preferred
• Experience in wet bench chemistry preferred
• Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
• Basic computer skills
• Basic math skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
• Ability to interpret graphs and read measurements
