Description

As MISO's Manager - Resource Utilization, you will lead a team at the center of critical transmission planning and interconnection activities that directly impact grid reliability, market efficiency, and the integration of new energy resources across the MISO footprint.

This is more than a technical leadership role. It is an opportunity to guide strategy, develop talent, improve processes, and influence how planning models, study methodologies, and interconnection evaluations support the evolving energy landscape.

In this role, you will:



  • Lead the execution of generator modification studies, generator retirement studies, and HVDC studies in alignment with MISO Tariff and BPM requirements
  • Ensure accurate, defensible study results while driving accountability for on-time milestone delivery
  • Direct the development, validation, and maintenance of power flow, short circuit, stability, and deliverability models used throughout the planning process
  • Oversee data quality initiatives and automated validation processes to improve consistency, reduce rework, and strengthen study accuracy
  • Collaborate with Transmission Owners, Interconnection Customers, and internal teams to validate assumptions, resolve data issues, and ensure study readiness
  • Lead cross-functional coordination between engineering, modeling, and automation teams to maintain alignment on tools, methodologies, and workflows
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance throughput, reduce cycle times, and improve customer experience
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing technical team while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement


The ideal candidate brings strong leadership capability, technical expertise in transmission planning and power system analysis, and a passion for developing people while solving complex grid challenges. As well as requiring:



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Economics, Business or related field
  • At least five (5) years of technical energy industry experience and two (2) years of leadership experience


The appropriate level will be determined based on experience and knowledge.

The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $166,000-$191,000 USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.

Position is also eligible for an annual bonus if individual performance and company objectives are met. At MISO we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including 401k, vacation, sick and safe time, available on your first day of employment.
