Job Summary

Maricopa Community Colleges has an opportunity for a motivated and community-focused Program Analyst (East Valley) to join the Maricopa Small Business Development Center (SBDC). In this role, you will partner with small business owners, entrepreneurs, and students to provide research, analysis, and guidance that supports the development and growth of successful businesses.

The Program Analyst (East Valley) position plays a key role in advancing program and project goals by contributing to strategic initiatives, delivering data-driven insights, and supporting business development efforts. The Program Analyst will also engage with the community, colleges, and external partners to strengthen connections and expand resources for those served by the SBDC.

The Program Analyst (East Valley) position serves communities throughout the East Valley, including Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Queen Creek, and Apache Junction. This role involves regular travel between locations and the flexibility to support activities at other Valley-wide locations as needed.

Essential Functions

50% - Meets with small business owners, entrepreneurs, and students to create sustainable and profitable businesses

20% - Maintains records, documents, financial reports, business plans, and/or related program communication materials via relational database, and outside tools (Example: Live Plan, Growth Wheel, Vertical IQ)

15% - Serves as a liaison to constituencies, addressing program needs:
  • Collaborates with others and provides professional-level program representation to clients and partners.
  • Provides program policy and process information to students, faculty, staff, and the public

5% - Promotes Small Business Development Center (SBDC) services to business owners, faculty, community partners, and students

5% - Conducts and supports workshops, webinars, and training events

5% - Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business, or public administration, or a directly related field, and two (2) years of related program management experience, preferably in an educational setting.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above, sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in business, communications, education, or a related field
  2. Five or more years of experience in counseling or advising individuals, students, small groups, and/or business owners to meet desired goals
  3. Two or more years of experience in creating and delivering education-based programming over multiple platforms to achieve desired goals
  4. Demonstrated experience in completing multiple projects amid competing requests according to established strategic plan objectives, goals, and targets
  5. Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
  6. One year of full-time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two years


Special Working Conditions

This position serves communities throughout the East Valley, including Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Queen Creek, and Apache Junction. This role involves regular travel between locations and the flexibility to support activities at other Valley-wide locations as needed.

Will be expected to work at multiple sites or locations within Maricopa County;

Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: http://business.maricopa.edu/risk-management/motor-vehicle-usage/motor-vehicle-driving-requirements

Typically requires finger dexterity, talking, hearing, and seeing, as well as repetitive motion.

May be required to lift or carry up to 25lbs

May be required to sit for a prolonged period of time, viewing a computer monitor

Work is routinely performed in an indoor office environment.
