The Office of Public Safety seeks an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator that promotes a safe University environment, to learn, work, and visit. They provide health and safety guidance to programs, events, and serves as a Safety Officer under emergency situations. The help develop, track, and monitor events on campus, to comply with laws, regulations, and ensure safety compliance with federal and state regulations. The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator ensures safety equipment is positioned and suitable for university use. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. | Duties & Responsibilities |
- Develops and coordinates inventory and tracking systems for all safety related equipment positioned on university property. Includes Automated External Defibrillators, Bleeding Control Kits, and other life saving products.
- Serves as a liaison to event planning and coordination for Office of Public Safety.
- Develops incident action plans, holds coordination meetings, conducts after action evaluations, and ensures a comprehensive approach to safe event planning and execution.
- Documents all safety planning in Office of Public Safety calendars and coordinates with off campus partners.
- Conducts hazard assessments and facilitates emergency planning with university building managers.
- Provides on site guidance to building occupants and develops emergency plans in conjunction with UAPD, Facilities Management, and other partners as needed.
- Assists in the facilitation of all building related drills and exercises, including fire drills.
- Serves in the Planning Section for University of Arizona emergency activations under Office of Public Safety and CIRT.
- May serve as Planning Section Chief for incident management activations under planned events as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Ability to communicate effectively with broad range of audiences and groups in a University setting, including students, faculty, and staff.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and ability to document and manage records.

| Minimum Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience, is required.
- 3 years of relevant experience with emergency preparedness, emergency management, or public safety related job duties is required.

| Notice of Availability of the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report |
In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
