POSITION TITLE

Chemical TradeSpecialist

POSITION OVERVIEW

This positionis responsible fortrade compliance and regulatory compliance matters related to raw materials and finished products across our chemical businesses. The role serves as a key partner to sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing, product stewardship, and commercial teams to help ensure materials and productsmoveefficiently across borders while meeting applicable import, export, and chemical regulatory requirements. This individual supportsaccuratetariff classification, country of origin determinations, import documentation, and ongoing regulatory processes that reduce risk,maintaincompliance, and enable business continuity. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical and regulatory information, and a proactive approach to collaborating across functions to support a complex global chemical portfolio.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaboratewithcross-functionalteams to ensure globaltrade andregulatory compliance forchemical businesses.

  • Determineand document tariff codes in SAP GTS (Global Trade System).

  • Complete TSCA import certifications for chemical imports.

  • Evaluate Bills ofMaterial and product supply chain todetermineand documentCountryofOrigin.

  • Develop andmaintainimport and export procedures and trainingand serve as a liaison withourglobal locations toassistwithimportsas necessary.

  • Collaboratewith outside counsel when necessary toobtainguidance on tariff codes and rulings.

  • Coordinate /participatein labelling considerations as they relate to Country of Origin.

  • Develop and complete routine audits of the tariff data to ensure there are no errors.

  • Assistwith trade actions as they arise.

  • Assist with GTS projects that willimprovesystemuse and create efficiencies.

  • Assistwith generaltradesupport as needed, includingresponding to customer inquiries, supporting internal stakeholders on trade-relatedissues, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (chemistry or chemical engineering is preferred)

  • Technical or manufacturing experience with chemical products and general chemistry knowledge.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with a cross functional team to support business functions.

  • Proficient inMicrosoft Office programs.

  • Ability to read and interpret regulationswith a focus onlong term implications.

  • Strong communicationskills (written and oral), teamwork, attention to detail, and organizationalskills.Collaborationskills to work cross-functionally with sourcing and supply chaintomake and assign Country of Origin determinations.

QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED

  • Experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems and the ability to learn how to use GTS to enter andmaintainglobal Tariff Code Assignments.

  • Experience with Millikenchemistries,products,and supply chains.

  • Basic understanding ofUSToxic Substances Control Act (TSCA).

The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize appropriately, and track progress.

  • Ability to learn how to read and interpret the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and theappropriate Sectionand Chapter notes, as well as other online classification tools (Customs Ruling Online Search System, CROSS).

  • Ability to learn to assign Tariff Codes based on knowledge of chemical composition, end uses and product literature.
