Division of Applied Social Sciences - RaFF Job Description
The Senior Applied Research Economist advances the Rural & Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center (RaFF's) state-level farm income projections and large-scale projects. This position requires developing and enhancing policy models; disseminating research to academic, policy, and producer audiences; engaging with stakeholders; and mentoring graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The role provides opportunities to seek external funding to support new lines of research and is intended for candidates with the potential to become recognized experts in applied agricultural economics and policy analysis. Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
PhD in Agricultural Economics, Applied Economics, Economics, or related field with 2+ years of post-PhD experience; OR Master's degree with 5+ years of post-MS experience; OR
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $75,000-$125,000/year. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
