We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Optical Engineer for a visible, full-time role. This position will focus on developing and optimizing processes for cutting-edge fiber-optical products, supporting next-generation telecom and data center applications.

The ideal candidate will work within a dynamic, cross-functional team - including product line management, electrical, mechanical, optical, and systems R&D, test and automation, and manufacturing, etc. The candidate will collaborate with colleagues across global sites and engage with internal and external component suppliers.

What You Will Do

  • Lead process design and development of fiber optical products, working closely with staff engineers and managers
  • Work through full product development cycles as well as flawless launching in offshore manufacturing
  • Develop and improve manual and automated assembling & test processes, such as optical alignment and fixing
  • Do failure mode and effect analysis, perform DOE and data analytics to draw conclusions
  • Identify root cause of failure modes and drive through corrective actions
  • Develop and maintain detailed process documentation following the ISO standards

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Master's degree in physical science or engineering discipline with an optical orientation
  • At least 5 years of process development experience in optical products, with a focus on fiber-optic components and system
  • Hands-on experience in fiber optical product's assembling, calibration, and testing
  • Experience in optical assemblies involving application of optical adhesives, solders, etc.
  • Proficient in measurement instruments such as tunable lasers, optical power meters, OSA, and Oscilloscopes.
  • Experienced in experimental data analysis and proficient in programming (e.g. Python)
  • Knowledge of Design Of Experiments (DOE) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Experience in project planning, scheduling & risk analysis, and mitigation
  • Familiar with new product introduction (NPI) processes
  • Strong teamwork, organization, and communication skills

What Will Put You Ahead

  • PhD Degree
  • Bilingual in Mandarin
  • Experience with OCS/DGE/WSS product development and testing
  • Experience with LCOS development and testing

For this role, we anticipate paying $140,000- $220,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
