As a Welder, you'll operate metal fabrication equipment such as gas tungsten arc (GTAW), gas metal arc (GMAW), flux-cored arc (FAW), plasma arc (PAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), and resistance welding.

What you'll do:

  • Produce a variety of parts from shop drawings to conform to specifications

  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications

  • Operate brazing and soldering equipment

  • Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears, and other metal straightening and bending machines

  • Participate in continuous improvement of processes

  • Cross train in other complementary skills to support production requirements

  • Observe all applicable safety requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • 3 months or more of TIG welding experience

  • At least 6 months of experience reading, understanding, and interpreting blueprints and basic welding process specifications under supervision

  • Ability to sit or stand at least 50% of work shift

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Desired Skills

  • Hands-on exposure to basic tool fabrication methods and standard shop processes, including measuring, cutting, and fitting parts to specification.
  • Experience using production tracking or inventory control systems to log work orders, time, and materials accurately.

  • Completion of a welding apprenticeship program; or equivalent.
  • Well-organized with attention to detail.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to think outside the box when solving problems.
