Position Summary

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The CDD is seeking a dynamic individual to lead the activities of a growing division, the Family & Community Partnership Division, which consists of multiple statewide programs. This division is one of five highly diverse divisions within the CDD. Each division is grouped by similar goals, objectives, populations served, and contribute to the mission and vision of the CDD as a whole.

The Family & Community Partnership Division has a variety of integrated, and complex state programs with differing funding streams, hence a variety of purpose, goals and objectives. The successful candidate must have the skills to effectively work with outside constituents and to align programmatic goals with funder goals as well as Center goals.

This division houses several programs that have high state visibility and are driven by needs of individuals with disabilities in New Mexico. The successful candidate will have knowledge of the best practices in supporting persons with DD/IDD and their families, experience overseeing fiscal and programmatic goals, and experience with successfully obtaining funding accordingly to support the goals of the division.

The successful candidate will, in addition, have an understanding of the Center's role within the larger HSC institution as well as the AUCD National Network of University Centers Of Excellence. Connecting funder goals, CDD mission/goals, HSC goals as well our national network's mission and goals is an important aspect of this position and requires the successful candidate to have knowledge of a variety of systems and institutions and the ability to align with these varying entities, and to successfully communicate that alignment to the rest of the division.
