Department Description:

The Training & Health Equity Collaborative (THE Collaborative) is housed in the Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), under the guidance of a senior management team. The Collaborative is the administrative unit that has had domestic and international training grants and has been funded at the federal and state level as the prime recipient, as well as subcontracts from various universities and agencies. THE Collaborative's portfolio of programs includes the Pacific AIDS Education & Training Center, the West Region Care & Wellbeing Center, and the Alameda County Training Development Unit.

Job Summary:

The Pacific AIDS Education & Training Center (Pacific AETC) Regional Program Manager is a member of the programmatic and evaluation teams at the Training & Health Equity Collaborative (THE Collaborative), an administrative unit within UCSF whose portfolio includes the Pacific AETC program. Under the supervision of THE Collaborative Deputy Director, the incumbent provides programmatic oversite by managing work plan details, developing progress reports and partnering on grant submissions. They will supervise regional training events, conduct meetings and training courses, and provide programmatic leadership to the local partner sites on Pacific AETC activities in key areas (e.g., CORE, Minority AIDS Initiative, Interprofessional Education, Ending the HIV Epidemic, Bureau of Primary Care and Practice Transformation) . In addition, they will also provide Pacific AETC programmatic summaries and evaluation data for the project using the CHAMP training portal. Working closely with the Deputy Director and Evaluation Manager, they will provide evaluation technical assistance, including needs assessment, qualitative and quantitative survey development, and partner on descriptive analysis. This individual may also perform other duties as assigned by the Deputy Director including the development of additional training, technical assistance, and evaluation projects that support and propel the mission of Pacific AETC, inform program development, and provide science-based policy recommendations.

Proposes, leads and / or participates on policy and planning committees and working groups. Provides strategy development for organizational or research initiative.

Researches and drafts complex proposals, reports, briefings, executive summaries, and speeches. Establishes and maintains contacts internally and with external constituents for the collection and exchange of data.

Coordinates efforts with a variety of external and internal contacts; researches organizational structures, policies and procedures and summarizes best practices in field. Provides technical guidance and quality assessment.

Provides analyses for complex budget, financial, academic, data, systems and resource projects working directly with all levels of managers.

Researches, monitors and analyzes regulations, legislation, research literature and UC policies for impact on the organization or initiative.

  • Co develops and manages the Pacific AETC regional workplan with the Deputy Director. Manages and monitors subcontractors workplans to meet regional workplan goals.

  • Program manager for HRSA AETC implementation and reporting; act as primary point of contact for all Local Partner (LP) sub awardees; review and vet all reports from LPs; and manage data quality for monthly uploads

  • Prepare monthly progress reports with Deputy Director, including federally funded reporting (HRSA) which requires an extensive understanding of the HIV landscape and its activities

  • Lead monthly calls between Regional Office and LPs, providing feedback on LP activities and progress reports. Network on behalf of the Pacific AETC regional office

  • Manage the referral process for referrals by the National Clinician's Consultation Center and track LP responding activities

  • Manage the production of weekly and monthly Pacific AETC newsletters, contributing to the research of scholarly articles, news items, resources, and other relevant items for distribution throughout the Pacific region

  • Provide technical and programmatic feedback on training and promotional materials, act as primary correspondence between LPs, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Regional Office

  • Manage materials review process of training materials with other members of the Regional Office team; provide interface between LPs, Regional Office, and HRSA.

  • Produce presentation data for training and technical assistance programs

  • Conduct research and literature reviews on behalf of senior management team; facilitate, review and coordinate peer-reviews for articles, support abstract submissions and prepare conference presentations

  • Partner on special projects in collaboration with the senior management team

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
