Product Manager - Product Integrity & Compliance
Contract Details

  • Duration: 6-month contract
  • Location: Onsite in New York, New York
  • Pay Rate: $26-$28/hour

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Product Manager to support vendor compliance, product integrity, and regulatory initiatives across multiple product categories. This role will partner closely with internal cross-functional teams, external vendors, and third-party testing laboratories to ensure products meet internal quality standards, regulatory requirements, and performance expectations.

The ideal candidate has experience in product integrity, compliance, or quality assurance within the apparel or consumer products industry and thrives in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.


Key Responsibilities
Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Collaborate with internal teams including Sourcing, Production, Design, Legal, Merchandising, Retail, Wholesale, and Vendor partners to address regulatory and compliance matters
  • Monitor recurring testing and inspection failures and identify performance trends and insights
  • Stay informed on wholesale customer compliance requirements
  • Serve as a consultant and resource to cross-functional stakeholders
  • Create quarterly vendor and compliance performance reports to support vendor assessment initiatives

Program Management

  • Organize and maintain Product Integrity and Quality Assurance documentation and records
  • Support departmental initiatives and complete additional tasks as assigned
  • Assist with tracking and reporting related to testing, inspections, and compliance programs

Vendor Management & Product Compliance

  • Oversee product testing programs related to quality, product safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained across product categories
  • Onboard and educate vendors on quality assurance, product integrity, and regulatory compliance expectations
  • Support vendors with questions related to testing, inspections, and compliance procedures
  • Ensure products are tested according to assigned care instructions, Restricted Substance Lists (RSL), and quality expectations
  • Identify quality concerns and recommend corrective actions and solutions for failed testing results

Laboratory & Testing Coordination

  • Partner with third-party laboratories to ensure testing is conducted according to required standards and protocols
  • Monitor laboratory turnaround times, reporting accuracy, and testing procedures
  • Ensure adherence to specified test methods and compliance requirements

Regulatory Compliance

  • Stay current on evolving state, federal, and international regulatory requirements
  • Provide compliance guidance and support to internal stakeholders
  • Develop a foundational understanding of technical product details including materials, trims, fiber content, care labeling, and testing requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of Product Integrity, Quality Assurance, or Compliance experience
  • Knowledge of apparel manufacturing processes and procedures
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations including:

    • CPSC
    • CPSIA
    • FTC
    • CPSA
    • California Proposition 65
    • REACH

  • Experience with consumer product testing processes
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Highly organized with strong prioritization and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive, team-oriented mindset with strong external partnership skills
  • Interest in product testing, fabric innovation, sustainability, and social compliance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with product testing laboratories preferred
  • Background in apparel, fashion, or consumer products industries preferred
