Position Summary

The Lab Technician I supports routine laboratory operations and basic quality testing to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards and product specifications. This entry-level role assists with sample preparation, data entry, and equipment upkeep while learning procedures and safety protocols.

Hours: 6p - 6a (2-2-3 Schedule)

Pay: $21.50/ HR. Plus $2.00 Shift Differential

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform basic laboratory tests (e.g., pH, viscosity, moisture, density) following standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare samples for analysis, label and record data accurately.
  • Calibrate and clean laboratory equipment under supervision.
  • Enter test data into LIMS or spreadsheets and assist in generating lab reports.
  • Support daily housekeeping, inventory tracking, and compliance with safety practices.
  • Assist with receiving and logging raw materials or production samples.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree in science or technical field preferred.
  • Basic understanding of laboratory safety, tools, and measurement techniques.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and follow written procedures accurately.

Work Environment

  • The position is based in a manufacturing facility, which may involve exposure to loud noises, varying temperatures, and dust from production processes.
  • Associates will frequently work near or with machinery with moving parts, following strict safety protocols.
  • The facility operates on shift schedules with potential for overtime, including weekends, based on production needs.
  • This environment emphasizes team collaboration and adherence to safety regulations to ensure the wellbeing of associates.
  • This position contains work that involves work around handling chemicals, use of respirators, additional PPE and adherence to safety protocols is required.
  • Associates will be required to be certified in forklift operation as part of this role.
