Summary:
Provides assistance to the Principal Investigator and Study Team in coordinating research activities that may include conducting a variety of routine experiments with established methodologies, data collection and management, and other research activities as assigned. Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem)to provide degree equivalency verification. Does this position require Patient Care? No. Essential Functions: -Responsible for data collection, management, manipulation, analysis, and reporting. -Study cohort management. -Outreach communication with subjects, conducting mailings, follow-up on mailings, and obtaining necessary documents. -Provides assistance on work related to epidemiological studies and other population-based research. Education: Experience: Preferred: -College degree in psychology, neuroscience, pre-med, or other related field. -Applicants with 1+ year of experience post graduation from a Bachelor's degree will be considered for Research Assistant 2 position. -Experience in performing cognitive testing and administering behavioral questionnaires in a research or clinical setting, preferably in elderly subjects or patients. -Ability to work well independently, prioritizing work according to and within established study protocols. -Ability to learn quickly, with a strong history of taking initiative and motivation for Alzheimer's disease research. -Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to interact with a variety of people in person and on the telephone. Must be able to relate well with participants, caregivers, physicians/investigators, and administrators. -Ability to work under stress; the clinical research setting is a very busy and demanding environment.
